BridgeHub Terms of Service

These Terms of Service govern your use of BridgeHub (the “Service”), a partnership finding service provided by the American Contract Bridge League (“ACBL”).
By accessing or using BridgeHub, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and the following ACBL documents:

(collectively, the “ACBL Terms”). If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1. Eligibility and Relationship to ACBL
1.1. The Service is available only to current ACBL members in good standing.
1.2. You must have an active ACBL member account and comply with all ACBL Terms to use the Service.
1.3. If your ACBL membership is suspended, terminated, or otherwise not in good standing, your access to the Service may be suspended or terminated.
2. Account Creation and Access
2.1. You access the Service by logging in with your ACBL credentials. An account for the Service is created automatically based on your ACBL member account.
2.2. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your ACBL login credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account.
2.3. You must not share your account or credentials with any other person.
2.4. You must immediately notify ACBL if you believe your account has been accessed without your authorization.
3. Service Description
3.1. The Service is a tool that helps ACBL members find partners for bridge games, tournaments, and related events.
3.2. The Service may display information related to your ACBL membership, such as your name, location, and bridge-related data (for example masterpoint information or skill indicators).
3.3. The Service does not guarantee that you will find a partner, that any specific match will be available, or that any event, tournament, or game will accept your entry.
4. Acceptable Use and Good Faith Requirement
4.1. You may use the Service only in good faith for legitimate bridge partnership and related bridge-playing purposes.
4.2. You must not use the Service for any purpose that is unlawful, fraudulent, abusive, or unrelated to the game of bridge and its community.
4.3. You agree to treat other members with respect and to avoid conduct that harms or reasonably could harm their experience with the Service.
5. Prohibited Conduct
Without limiting the generality of Section 4, you must not:
6.1. Impersonate any person or entity, misrepresent your identity, misstate your ACBL membership, or misrepresent your skill level, ranking, or masterpoints in or through the Service.
6.2. Create or use an account for any person who is not you, or allow any other person to use your account for the Service.
6.3. Upload, post, transmit, or display through the Service any content that is:
(a) sexually explicit, suggestive, or otherwise inappropriate
(b) harassing, threatening, abusive, hateful, or discriminatory
(c) defamatory, misleading, or fraudulent
(d) spam, solicitation, advertising, or any other commercial promotion not expressly permitted.
6.4. Use the Service to send unsolicited or unwanted messages or contact to other members.
6.5. Use the Service to facilitate or arrange any activity that violates ACBL rules, tournament regulations, club policies, or applicable law.
6.6. Attempt to collect or harvest personal data about other users of the Service without their consent.
6.7. Attempt to access, probe, or test the vulnerability of the Service or any related system or network.
6.8. Use any automated tool (such as a bot, scraper, or crawler) to access the Service except as explicitly allowed by ACBL in writing.
6.9. Reverse engineer, decompile, modify, or attempt to derive the source code or underlying ideas of the Service.
6.10. Interfere with or disrupt the operation of the Service, including by introducing malware, overloads, or other harmful activities.
7. No Fees
7.1. The Service is provided to ACBL members without additional usage fees charged by ACBL for access to the Service.
7.2. The Service does not process payments between users. Any private financial arrangements you enter into with other individuals are solely your responsibility and at your own risk.
8. User Content
8.1. “User Content” means any information, text, images, profile details, or other materials that you provide or make available through the Service.
8.2. You are responsible for all User Content you provide through the Service, and you represent that you have the right to provide it and that it does not violate any law or any rights of others.
8.3. By submitting User Content to the Service, you grant ACBL a nonexclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, host, store, reproduce, modify, display, and distribute such User Content as necessary to operate and improve the Service and related ACBL services.
8.4. ACBL may remove or modify any User Content at any time in its sole discretion, including content that ACBL believes violates these Terms or harms other users or the reputation of ACBL.
8.5. You may request that ACBL stop processing User Content, and ACBL will comply promptly and to the extent permitted by applicable law and by the technical requirements necessary for the operation of the Service.
9. Privacy and Data
9.1. Your use of the Service is subject to the ACBL Privacy Policy, which describes how ACBL collects, uses, and shares your information.
9.2. The Service may use data from your ACBL member account and bridge activity for purposes such as partner matching, displaying relevant information to other users, and improving the Service, consistent with the ACBL Privacy Policy.
9.3. By using the Service, you consent to these data practices.
9.4. ACBL will not share your email address, phone number, or mailing address with other users unless you explicitly choose to share it with them.
10. Suspension and Termination
10.1. ACBL may, in its sole discretion and without prior notice, suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time, with or without cause.
10.2. Reasons for suspension or termination may include, but are not limited to:
(a) any suspected or actual violation of these Terms
(b) any suspected or actual violation of ACBL Terms or ACBL rules
(c) conduct that undermines the Service purpose including not honoring obligations expressed towards other Service users
(d) conduct that ACBL believes harms or risks harm to other users, ACBL, the Service, or the integrity of the game of bridge.
10.3. You may stop using the Service at any time by ceasing to log in. Your obligations under these Terms that by their nature should survive termination will survive.
11. No Guarantees and User Responsibility
11.1. ACBL does not guarantee:
(a) that you will find a suitable partner through the Service
(b) any partner you find will honor commitments, show up, or play at any particular level
(c) that any particular tournament, club, or organizer will accept your partnership or entry.
11.2. ACBL is not responsible for any arrangements you make with other users of the Service, including decisions to play together, travel, incur expenses, or participate in any event.
11.3. You are solely responsible for evaluating other users and for any agreements or commitments you make with them in connection with the Service.
12. Disclaimers
12.1. The Service is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory.
12.2. ACBL disclaims all implied warranties, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and noninfringement.
12.3. ACBL does not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, secure, or free of errors or defects, or that any defects will be corrected.
13. Limitation of Liability
13.1. To the maximum extent permitted by law, ACBL and its officers, directors, employees, and agents will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, data, use, or goodwill, arising out of or in connection with your use of or inability to use the Service.
13.2. To the maximum extent permitted by law, the total liability of ACBL for any claim arising out of or relating to the Service or these Terms will be limited to one hundred United States dollars (USD $100).
13.3. Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of certain damages, so some of the above limitations may not apply to you. In such cases, the limitations will apply to the fullest extent permitted by law.
14. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless ACBL and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses, including reasonable attorneys’ fees, arising out of or in any way related to:
15.1. your access to or use of the Service
15.2. your User Content
15.3. your violation of these Terms or of any ACBL Terms
15.4. your violation of any law or the rights of any third party.
16. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution
16.1. The laws of the State of New York (without giving effect to its conflict of laws principles) govern all matters arising out of or relating to this Terms and the transactions it contemplates, including, without limitation, its interpretation, construction, performance, and enforcement.
16.2. Any dispute arising from or relating to the Service or these Terms will be resolved in accordance with the ACBL Arbitration Agreement, which you must accept in order to use the Service.
17. Third Party Services and App Stores
17.1. The Service may rely on third party services, including Apple and App Store services. Your use of those services is subject to their separate terms.
17.2. Apple is not responsible for providing any maintenance or support services for the Service.
17.3. To the extent any third party benefits, disclaimers, or limitations required by Apple or another platform provider apply to the Service, those terms are incorporated by reference.
18. Changes to the Service and these Terms
18.1. ACBL may modify or discontinue the Service, in whole or in part, at any time.
18.2. ACBL may update these Terms from time to time. When changes are made, ACBL will update the “Last updated” date at the top of this document and may provide additional notice as required by law.
18.3. Your continued use of the Service after any changes to these Terms constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms. If you do not agree, you must stop using the Service.
19. Miscellaneous
19.1. These Terms, together with the ACBL Terms, constitute the entire agreement between you and ACBL with respect to the Service.
19.2. If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, that provision will be enforced to the maximum extent permissible, and the remaining provisions will remain in full force and effect.
19.3. ACBL’s failure to enforce any right or provision of these Terms will not be considered a waiver of that right or provision.
19.4. You may not assign or transfer your rights or obligations under these Terms without ACBL’s prior written consent. ACBL may assign or transfer its rights and obligations under these Terms without restriction.
